CAVITRD is the short form for "Centre for Advocacy and Visibility of Inclusive Transformation in Rural Disabilities." It is a registered Tanzanian NGO (Registration No. 14NGO/R/4896) that works with children and adults living with congenital or acquired anomalies, vision impairment, and trauma-related disabilities—primarily within the Lake Zone region.
To promote inclusive and equitable support systems for children with disabilities in underserved rural areas through education, advocacy, healthcare access, and community engagement.
CAVITRD began in Mwanza with a small group of passionate caregivers, health workers, and community leaders who noticed a gap in support for children with disabilities in rural areas. From early workshops in Buswelu to partnerships with clinics and health centers, CAVITRD’s journey is rooted in compassion and grassroots inclusion.
